    Modern electronic equipment often requires EMI Gaskets to avoid radiating EMI/RFI and to prevent susceptibility to outside sources of EMI/RFI. EMI Gaskets designed and manufactured utilizing the strengths of beryllium copper (BeCu) are the industry standard throughout the world.     Finger Stock EMI Gaskets

    Today's computer and telecommunications circuit cards demand increased EMI performance; EMC professionals find the old triangle profile's (solid top gasket) performance is marginal at best and degrades significantly over time. Thus the need for a high performance, post heat-treated, post-plated beryllium copper (BeCu) gasket that exhibits improved performance and withstands thousands of insertion cycles without degradation.

    Leader Tech works closely with industry leaders designing new gaskets to meet the emerging needs of today's micro sized and multi-gigahertz electronic equipment. The new 7-19PCI gasket was jointly developed with a leading telecommunications company to improve the EMI seal between Compact PCI circuit card faceplates. This was accomplished by using a series of individual finger contacts rather than a continuous strip contact that flexed poorly and suffered deformation over time. This improved design also reduced the force load buildup and allowed for easy card insertion in racks of 20+ circuit cards.

    Drawing on our EMI gasket experience, we selected these design features:

    • A series of individual fingers to achieve maximum conformal contact.
    • A single radius dome top profile to ease card loading and eliminate high stress in the contact area of the spring.
    • The industry standard manufacturing process for BeCu fingerstock gaskets (post heat-treated and post-plated alloy 25).

    Because of our extensive research and positive feedback from leading EMC professionals, we at Leader Tech think this is the best PCI gasket available in the industry. We offer two BeCu gasket sizes for extrusion variations and, for cost driven applications, we also offer both sizes in stainless steel.
